Johnny Damon got dropped in my league (Should I pick him up)

Postby jebatzel » Wed Apr 16, 2003 2:07 am

some silly person just dropped this former all-star.

not sure how many people noticed it, but I have Waiver Priority of 9

Junior Spivey got dropped too.

can drop Omar Daal or John Patterson to pick him up.

not that I can use him now, but he has trade value.

Drop Patterson I guess. You have to be dumb to dro a guy with his skills, in that line-up, who can lead the league in steals to boot.

I would run and get Damon immeadiately. He is a top 25 outfielder and probably an upgrade over at least one of your OF in a 12 team league. Drop Daal, since he is a marginal starter playing for a terrible team. Spivey is less clearcut and would depend on who you have starting and backing up 2B.

I have Ray Durham and Marcus Giles at 2nd.

my luck someone with better Waiver Priority will get Damon.

I think he let him go because of his slow start and probably didn't realize his trade value. He had a lot of other base stealers on his team too.

Damon's only useful if you think 30+ steals with a .280+ average, 15 HRs and 110+ runs doesn't suck.

In other words, stop reading this and go get 'em. :-B

What did you waste your waiver priority on last? Who's the waiver stiff you picked up? Was it worth losing Damon over? Not that you could have known he would get dropped but just curious.

I traded Adrian Beltreto get Joe Crede.

Picked up John Lackey, Kevin Millar, Rocky Biddle, Ricardo Rodriguez, Edgar Martinez, Mark Redman, Juan Acevedo, Carlos Zambrano, and John Patterson off Waivers.

Since then I have dropped John Lackey, Mark Redman, and John Patterson
