Aaron Heilman has now had 6 straight quality starts. He'll never live up to the hype but if he keeps on improving he may become another option for the bullpen next year or a back of the rotation starters. He improved his record at AAA to 5-8 and his ERA to 4.60.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
I wouldn't be suprised seeing him in the bigs by the end of the year. The way the bullpen has been overworked and the rotation very iffy right now, he might get another cup of coffee.
NY Post is reporting that Heilman will get the start Saturday. I'm not sure why they are choosing him over Ginter but it should be interesting nonetheless. Here's to hoping Heilman surprises us all.

Well change of plans. They switched to Ginter. I think this makes more sense right now but I was looking forward to seeing Heilman pitch.

a era of 6.3 in 19 games in the big leagues for his career.... i would say he is a long shot by far to make the big leagues out of ST this year..... expect him to begin the season in norfolk, as he has been unimpressive in ST so far this year....
Yeah I could have told you Heilman would the start the season in Norfolk prior to ST. Heilman is a bust and I wouldn't be surprised to seeing him traded. For whatever reason the Mets have been receiving inquiries about him.

Well Peterson supposedly changed his delivery and Heilman looked good at the end of ST. Deja vu. Heilman is getting the start Saturday which I guess is a good thing because I didn't even know who Santiago was.
Here's to hoping he keeps 'em in the yard.
