Trade Bargains

Postby jwhands » Tue Apr 15, 2003 10:19 pm

Just wondering who people thought would be out there that might be a bargain to trade for. Which players do you think are slumping right now that other teams might be giving up on, but should turn it up as the weather warms up.

Also, which players do you think came out of the gates fast that other teams might trade too much for because of their fast start.

Well, alot of top starting pitchers have had dreadful starts and could probably be gotten for far less than their normal value. A short list of top pitchers who have had shaky starts would be Schilling, Pedro, RJ, Zito, Mulder, Hudson, Halladay, Miller, Oswalt and Maddux. Some owners, especially inexperienced owners may be pushing the panic buttons on these guys. Some prominent batters who have had slow starts include Berkman, Konerko, C. Jones, Abreu and Dunn. Also, you might be able to get a bargain on injured studs like Giles, Jeter and Beltran, who all should be back in a month. Avoid Griffey though.

Players with inflated values right now might be Austin Kearns, MacDougal, Runelvys Hernandez, J.T. Snow, Mayne, Matheny, Reggie Sanders, Blalock, Crawford, Baldelli, Bernie Williams. Not saying that all of those will tank but that their fast starts increases their value over where it will likely be in a month or two.

cruz

the window might be closing on trading jose cruz jr --- i was able to package him and Piazza for bonds. that average is coming down, and he probably won't get 20 steals, not in that lineup. The homers will be there, but you should be able to upgrade, if you act fast...
