Hairston seems to be in a slide and Catillo just looks old.
Who is a better bet down the stretch?

Castillo looks old? He is only 28! He is batting .351 in July with a .433 OBP. He is not going to give you HR or RBI production, but he does have 9 runs over his last 8 games played. The only thing that is missing are stolen bases. Those tend to come and go in flashes (with some players), so if he can get some stolen bases by the end of the year, his value should rise. I would take Castillo over Hairston.
