Would it be possible to let the dumb Yankees/Red Sox fight to just die? I'm tired of hearing about it and all it's doing is creating controversy within the café. What does this have to do with what this forum is about?

Sorry, HolyCow. I'm not attacking you, just a general comment.

I saw it about 10 times and never saw Arod with Varitek in a headlock. But I found something even better ......

Oh stop it. Since A-Rod was the one bringing it on, that was expected.

If A-Rod would have taken the first shot, everyone would be yelling how A-Rod was the punk. I guess this is a lesson for A-Rod next time to throw the first punch. :-]

Id say its more of a lesson for ARod to keep his mouth shut in the future. Did Nomar start having a hissy fit when he got hit Friday night? No, he didnt.
But after searching a bit more, here is the "headlock" picture you were looking for. Seems a bit more like ARod trying to keep his balance as Varitek picks him up in a classic wrestling takedown. But just the opinion of one Sox fan. You be the judge ....

classic wrestling takedown? looks more like Tek's got some man-love towards ARod if you ask me...

No, A-Rod's a Yankee, remember? He'd be revered for his "toughness" and how he doesn't take anything from anybody. Yankee fans (many, not all of them) are usually unable to say that anyone on their team is anything short of angelic. Look at the Game/Fight Commentary if you want it confirmed.

Remember, not all Yankee fans. But a lot of them.

thats cause we spend so much money on them. They better be angels who hit like hell.

On a side note, i dont think arod was at fault but tanyon was definetly wrong in what he did.

Wait, whats see what ARod said to Arroyo walking down the base path (censored version)
"F*** you, F*** you, come on you mother f***er!" And then Varitek hits him in the face. Now I know at my school if you say crap like that to the wrong person you are going to get your ass beat. Thats what happened to Arod. He probably learned his lesson about that yesterday. He should learn from Edmonds, he took being plunked with class by walking down the base path and saying or doing nothing.

Just to clarify, Arod was staring down the Pitcher and Varitek was the one that started jawing. I'm looking forward to another another good fight tonight. I need something to get excited about. The Mets are depressing me. :-[

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
