Before today's game vs the D-Rays Pat Hentgen surprisingly announced his retirement.

The 2 time WS winner and Cy Young winner was 2-9 with a 6.95 ERA and had been smacked around like pinata by the Yankees in his last start.

In another brilliant piece of reporting/fantasy analysis, CBS Sportsline reported:

CBS Sportsline wrote:Pat Hentgen retired today. This move drastically reduces his fantasy value. Consider sitting him unless you don't have any better alternatives. He should only be considered in AL only leagues.

Good job boys.

Hentgen will now concentrate on his fishing. Happy Trails Pat - thanks for the memories.

He shouldn't have made this curtain call of coming back for one more year of "glory". He's obviously not half the pitcher he used to be, he's more like a BP pitcher now.

He was a great Jay in the 90's though ;-D

Seconded. I always enjoyed watching him pitch.

He certainly wasn't someone hitters enjoyed facing in the mid-90s...
