Why not????Prefect fit.
Manager Felipe Alou indicated that Matt Herges is no longer his primary closer.
When Alou makes out his lineup card and writes down the options available out of the bullpen each night, he lists his closer last. Last night, ''I put everybody next to each other (in a row),'' he said. Alou stopped short of saying he was going with a committee, instead calling it closer-by-circumstance. ''[Herges] carried us the first half,'' the manager said. ''I don't see the same fastball, or the same command of it. Matty right now is not throwing the ball well. He could be a little tired, but I don't see the ball leaving his hands with much life.'' Felix Rodriguez, Jim Brower, and Jason Christiansen could see opportunities over the next week, but GM Brian Sabean is expected to trade for an established closer soon. Jul. 22 - 7:39 am et

It will be interesting to see who the Tigers get in return if it goes through. As an Urbina owner, I'd like to see this because he'll get more opps.
