Why did Boston have to bring back this Youkallali guy when they have plenty of guys to play? Bellhorn, Mueller, Pokey, Nomar, and now Youk(whatever) guy fighting for 3 spots?

Here's my prediction for the course of events in Nomar's career, starting tomorrow:

While walking out to the field, Nomar will trip on the infield grass, pull his Achilles tendon, strain his hamstring, break an arm and go blind.

The Dodgers will then sign Nomar to a 12-year, $1.28 Billion contract where he will proceed to hit .223 for the rest of his career.

Shawn Green and Nomar will become best friends. Shawn Green will get "NOMAR" tatooed across his chest. Adrian Beltre will laugh. Robin Ventura will be asked to take over as the 4th starting pitcher of the Dodgers, because Kaz Ishii starts the 2005 season with a first-half WHIP of 4.34, while have a 0.012 K/BB ratio.

I wouldn't count on that. I'd expect him to start one game and maybe pinch-hit in the other. I don't see them taxing his gimpy leg with 18 innings. He was supposed to have Tuesday off, but had to play with Pokey hurt, so he got yesterday off instead after Youkilis was called up. Ricky Gutierrez is expected to be activated for tonight's game. Don't be surprised to see him thrown into the starting lineup right away at short in the nightcap, with maybe a late-inning pich-hitting appearance for Nomar if the situation warrants it.
