He was drafted in pretty much all leagues, and then dropped shortly after playing terrible in April and May. As much as I down on him, he is putting up good numbers lately, with a few exceptions.
June: .286 AVG, 3 HR, 15 RBI, 13 R, 4 SB, .371 OBP
July: .429 AVG, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 8 R, 1 SB, .462 OBP
On top of that, he currently has a 16 game hit streak.
Some of those numbers look good, especially that 16 game hit streak, but it seems he really is not hitting for much power or driving in many runs. If he would have not have that game in June when he had 5 RBI, he would have had an average month.
He obviously is hitting the ball well lately, and if he was driving in runs, people would be going nuts over him. But that is something that could change quickly if Delgado, and now Wells, start getting on base more, giving him more RBI opportunities. His SB potential also adds nice value, and if he could get his power stroke back, look out.
I dont know if I am ready to buy into his recent hot streak yet, but he is definately someone I will be keeping my eye on. But im sure people will catch on soon, if they havent already, so I am not going to sleep on him too long. If the RBI's start pouring in soon, he could be a great second half pickup.
