Hello, I was directed here by Arlo with a concern about Runlevys Hernandez. I have him as my 5th pitcher, along with Lowe, Colon, Mussina and Halladay. I wanted to know if he is a keeper. I've heard as much but wanted to get a local opinion on how he'll do for the rest of the season.
Well I will pass along to you that He has great stuff.
Some Team Execs said last week on ESPN.com that he has No. 1 Stuff potentional. The thing I have been most impressed with is his Composure. Looks like he is a 5 year Veteran.

Why not?
This was written in mid April 2003. two years later and he still is trying to return to form. He could be good from here on out, but I couldnt imagine keeping someone who wont contribute for almost 2 years.
Nothing against Elvys, he's shown magic when healthy, Im just saying dont keep someone who will be out for 2 years.

Well had I had my injury Crystal Ball I would not have suggested it.

I guarantee in April of '03 when he was tearing up the league saying he wasnt a keeper would have been foolish. You said the right thing, its just that luck has a way of beating logic.

I realize it was written in April 2003, thanks to a certain someone pretty much the entire Royals forum has become unreadable due to Rico-like bumping.
What I was asking was why is he not really a keeper anymore?
