Who was the starting shortstop in '86 for the Sox? It seems like there were 3 guys who played a decent amount, but was it b/c of injuries? Who was supposed to be the starting SS?

Romero was there from the start, Owen and Quinones were brought in during the season. Shortstop wasn't exactly what got the Sox into the Series that year... :-)

Glenn Hoffman was the Opening day SS after playing almost 100 games there in 85. Romero was supposed to be the man. Quinones was traded to the M's for Spike at the deadline.
