I have an open DL spot and thought I might add him.

Not for another 4-6 weeks at least. Not because of the injury, but more because the Dodgers can't seem to find a regular spot for him. He'll be back and forth until September.

Forget the man crush. I drop what I'm doing to watch Zack Greinke pitch.

They have a spot for him, in fact they said he would stay in the rotation before he recently went on the DL. Alvarez won't be starting for the Dodgers for any extended amount of time, these are just emergency starts for him. The only way I see them bumping him out of the rotation is if Nomo comes back (and they keep Lima in the rotation), which I wouldn't bet on at all.

If you have a DL spot, I don't see any risk in adding him to see what happens.
