*shrug* some people thought he'd be this year's john burkett (had a 20-win season or something crazy his first year with the braves. didn't do nearly as well before or after.)
mazzone's a great pitching coach, and a lot of people thought thomson was going to put up numbers around what thehat suggested above. hasn't panned out. >_<

Agreed...but let's remember where he was pitching (Coors) prior to last season. So not having posted good numbers is a bit relative. He was 7-5, 4.17 post break with Texas last year, and moving to Atlanta gave me reason to think he might do even better this year. Can't win 'em all.
