I agree with you up until the last point. Once Bonds can out-homer his entire league, then I'll give it consideration. Otherwise, Ruth is still #1 on my list.
Probably going more into a baseball history style conversation here but what the heck, might as well. There is one very interesting statistic about the era/power difference. The top three ops+ years for Ruth (255, 239, 239) and Bonds (275, 262, 231). The last four years of Bond's career has been as impressive to me as any of Ruth's power years. The middle portion of his career was as impressive as any of Mays' years. He is the most complete offensive/defensive player ever IMO. Ruth may still get the nod simply from the pitching aspect of his game, but I am really starting to think Barry has surpassed him.
