when is this kid gonna get back in the lineup. i know he is having soreness in his knees. is this going to be something that is going to bother him for the rest of the season? if so should i look to get a fa catcher or be happy with the production for 5 days a week?

I picked him up a couple days ago, but went another direction after a bunch of sitting... too bad, too!!! I don't know, I think I'd wait another day and then maybe make a move for another catcher. I wish I knew when he would play, but I haven't heard anything...

Whenever he does come back, he won't play full time, so if your exptecting that, you might as well drop him now.

The news isn't getting better:
Jul. 31 Joe Mauer (C) Min will rehab his ailing left knee for at least another week, according to the Star-Tribune. Mauer got a second opinion on his knee yesterday. Twins GM Terry Ryan said there were some "disagreements on how we move forward," though he declined to get into specifics. The Pioneer Press reports that Mauer will now seek a third opinion on his surgically repaired knee.
Blessed are the cheesemakers.

As the Twins are unsure if Joe Mauer will return to play this season, a catcher may still be on their shopping list.
Minnesota can still trade for the Mariners' Dan Wilson, if Seattle is willing to move him. Mauer, who will get a third opinion on his left knee this week, could be facing season-ending surgery, thus creating the Twins' need for another reliable receiver.

This is not looking good, hopefully he doesn't need surgery and will be back within a couple weeks.
