Teixeira projections for next 3 seasons?

Postby dannahann » Mon Apr 14, 2003 11:39 am

I've been offered a pretty decent deal but would lose Teixeira in the trade. Our league is a 10 team, 40 man KEEPER. We protect 8 VETS and 3 ROOKIES. Tex could be kept as a rookie next season for sure (and possibly in '05 if he's sent down for much of this year).

What kind of numbers do you see him putting up in '03, '04, and '05?

roto: 7 hitting cats/ AVG, OPS, HR, RUN, RBI, SB, HITS.

Thanks

I won't speculate on actual stats but I will say that this guy will be huge in the future. He's having a problem with breaking balls right now. Once he learns how to hit them hard pitchers will have to start throwing him fastballs again and to make a long story short he will become really good overnight. His stellar spring was a bunch of homeruns hit off of fastballs thrown by inferior pitchers so it has little to do with him being ready for the big time yet.

He is a big guy who crushed the ball in college. He is bigger than everyone except maybe Arod and Juan Gone on the Rangers. I see him becoming a good homerun hitter eventually. He has a hole that is being exploited right now and who knows if he'll correct that but hey maybe you should take your chances with him. A lot of people see him as can't miss.

Thanks Chiggity,
That's kinda my thinking too and was why I didn't jump at the offer. If he does come up huge, I'd kick myself for yrs for trading him so early.
