Does anyone have good notion on how things will shake out in Texas? Will Mench and Nix have full-time jobs next year? Is Teixera likely moving to the OF to open 1b up for Gonzalez? Will one of these kids get traded?
I don't see anyway that Nix isn't a big part of the Rangers OF in the future, the guy has major upside if he can work on his BB/K. Mench is servicable and will most likely get good playing time. The third spot will likely depend on whether Teix / Bora$ is still a part of the Rangers next year because Gonzalez should be the 2005 starting 1B. If Teix stays then Mench will probably sit some to get Nivar playing time, if not Mench/Nivar/Nix would be my guess.
ESPN said that the Rangers wont make any major moves (unless its for a pitcher) becuase they will be top contenders with the Yankees and Sox in a Year or two. If they could get Zito for Nix and someone then they would have a great ace... they need 5 studs

THey would be crazy to let him go but with Boras as his agent I can't imagine that the Rangers will want to have another AROD contract situation on their hands. Not saying that Tex will be getting AROD money, I just mean that the Rangers will have their hands tied if they want to make moves to improve the team with potential money issues that they could encounter.

There are actually a couple of possibilities. Nivar in center, Mench in left, and Nix in right is a possibility. Teixiera in left is also a possibility if Adrian Gonzalez gets promoted. Also, Rusty Greer will possibly be back from injury by 2005, though i wouldnt count on it too much.
I don't think Tex will be a FA for 2 years or so. There is some concern with Boras being his agent, but I don't see him going anywhere for a couple of years

I was gonna mention Greer. He might be back within the next 3-4 years.
