Early indications are that Mark Prior will be out for more than just one start and could even miss the rest of the season.
More will be known after today's MRI and other tests on his elbow.

MY condolences to all the Prior owners out there. I feel particularly bad for my friend who drafted him in the 1st round (he's sitting in last right now). At least Prior is healthy and well in my Franchise mode in MVP Baseball 2004 :-B

I wonder what the % is of those who drafted Prior and of those who are not in first :-?

Prior went first overall in my dynasty league this past spring. We drafted in late January, before it appeared anything was wrong.

I got him at the turn with the 11th pick of 10 team H2H and I'm stuck in 3rd, 9 1/2 games back.
But every team in that league has had issues with one of their top 2 picks....whether its Boone, Delgado, Vernon, Nomar, Wood....So, I'm not about to use Prior as an excuse.
Blessed are the cheesemakers.

I took Prior in one H2H league in the 2nd round, which I'm in first place so far. This Prior injury will definitely have lasting damage to my fantasy team, since I was able to use the DL spot early in the year on Penny, who put up very good numbers in Prior's place. Now, I'm gonna be stuck replacing Prior with an Adam Eaton or Jarrod Washburn, so my pitching is finally gonna suffer from his loss.

I traded for prior and I'm running away with first place. The team that drafted Prior is in third place. My take on the situation is if you drafted him with thoughts of him carrying your rotation than you were doomed to start. But if you drafted or aquired him thinking you have a hell of an arm on your team than him going down shouldn't effect you any more than losing another good arm like Hudson or Wood. I built with hitting in mind and added people like santana, oliver perez, prior, eaten and harden either through buy low sell high trades or off the WW.

After the draft I was extremely happy with my pitching staff. I drafted:

Prior
Beckett
Padilla
Peavy
Sabathia
C. Zambrano
Washburn

I envisioned a three-headed monster of Prior-Beckett-Padilla. I fully expected at least 50 wins from the three of them. Alas, it was not to be... :,-(
