get this:

team dropped Brett Boone today in my yahoo winners league.

which you would think would be stupid by itself.

the kicker is, 2 days before that he traded for Boone

why trade for someone if you just plan on dropping him?

I don't have any chance at picking up Boone, but I found this really crazy.

the team that dropped Boone does have Marcus Giles, so I still don't understand why he ever traded for Boone

He did drop Boone at Midnight probably after seeing that Giles had 2 doubles.

but why?

An accident?

Who'd he trade for Boone?

Did he just trade for Boone? Or did he get him along with another player in a package.

If someone proposed me a trade with Vlad and Boone, and I had a solid 2B, a might consider dropping him, if I didn't have free space on the bench and didn't think I could trade him, his value isn't too high.

Just saw the trade, Its not unthinkable that he dropped him. Looks like he traded for Bonds and Boone was just a throw in.

Seriously, How much can you really get for Boone in a trade?

he dropped him for Juan Rincón if it matters (RP with 8 wins)

I would think Boone would have some trade value though.

Looks to me like he needed to free up a roster spot for Giles' return, effectively turning that 3-for-3 into a 3-for-2 deal. Not sure why it was neccesary to add Boone to that package, but this season, at least, he is playing like a trade throw-in.

Whoops. You added the Rincon info while I was typing my (now incorrect) observations. I hope this league counts holds, otherwise that move doesn't make a ton of sense.

id drop brett boone too, he carries very little value and a solid RP is worth way more than a guy that hurts your average while not contributing a ton in other categories.
