Trachsel has a better era than Maddux in the second half for the last 3 years. 2.75 compared to Maddux 3.12. Both statistically are a better second half pitchers. Which would you want?

Traschel, hands down. Maddux looks like he's fading a bit.

Maddux has his usual statline going, including an uptick in Ks from last year--except in HRs, he has been getting bombed like Jose Lima circa 2002. There is a strong chance that this HR problem is just coincidental bad luck--if the HRs are down, his numbers look pretty nice.

#31 Greg Maddux
Maddux will rebound and half a decent second half. His ERA is very "not-maddux-like". If the Cubs give him a little run support, the Mad Dog will be his old self: dominant. IMO

i think Maddux will be slightly better.... i see him being very good for most of his starts and then blowing up for a couple against a good offensive team. the good news i think is that the Cubs are done with the Cards...

Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
