Is Hafner still a FA in your league?

Postby LCBOY » Wed Jul 14, 2004 9:17 pm

Just curious to see in how many leagues is Hafner still a FA? No one has touched him so I grabbed him. This guy is on pace for

.313/.412/.535, 946 OPS, 19 HRs, 114 RBI, 54 doubles, 97 runs

So far in July he is hitting .344/.462/.594 (11/32 with 6 XBHs)

And he lasted this long as a FA? ;-7

Yes, he is still out there, in my 8-team league. 'Tho people are starting to raid the FA pool for talent. I am not sure that I have a real spot for him, but I keep seeing his numbers on Sportscenter when they rund game stats on the bottom of the screen. I've considered picking him up a couple times, though. . .

I dropped Jeff Weaver to pick up Hafner today. Weaver wasn't doing much and I'm getting Beckett back soon (I hope! :-o )

Hafner has been awesome all season. In any league more then 8 teams, and even some of those, he should have been taken months ago.

Have Helton at first. Dunn as OF and backup 1B. No DH spot, and have a few bats that are sharing the Util. spot.

Guys on the bubble for my team:

Gerut - although he has been giving me SB's, average has blown big time. Keep hoping he'll break thru soon.

V. Castilla - Playing him just at Coors so far has been good to me.

J. Dye - Maybe. . .

J. Kendall - been giving me good Avg. from the catcher spot, but have Mauer and V. Martinez trying to find playing time too.

R. Furcal - although I hate to break up my rotation between him, C. Guillen and Castilla for my left side infield.

I figure if I start to slide down the standings maybe I'd try something different???
