And if anything was reported on WSCR, it most likely was part of a segment where they were discussing the issue, not a breaking story.
Yeah, I think whoever heard this was mistaken, it hasn't actually happened yet, just a good possiblity right now.

I read the link. It's not official, but the article says it has intensified:
Red Sox making play for Big Unit Deal floated to send Garciaparra to Cubs for prospects to land Diamondbacks ace
By JACK CURRY THE NEW YORK TIMES
HOUSTON -- The pursuit of Randy Johnson has officially intensified with the Boston Red Sox contemplating a two-part deal in which they would send Nomar Garciaparra to the Chicago Cubs to secure prospects and then use those young players as part of a package to acquire Johnson from the Arizona Diamondbacks.
An American League team executive, who has been briefed on the trade discussions, said the Red Sox were talking with at least one team about using Garciaparra as a chip to help land Johnson, 40, a five-time Cy Young award winner. And that team is the Cubs, whose farm system is rich in pitching.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Oh and I edited the title of the thread so no one would have a heart attack or anything since it's not a done deal yet.

Nice work, I noticed that. On another note, it sure is amazing how quickly things spread all over the internet. This has spread like wild fire over the past hour or so. It will be interesting to see how it pans out. Although, I did hear Gammons mention this same deal earlier tonight, so who knows what will happen now!

But if a man ignores the past, he may rob the future.

I read that RJ isn't exactly the best of buddies with Schilling, so we might as well count that out as a reason to go to the Sox. I have a feeling he'll be a Yankee if he's not a D'back, with prospects from a 3rd team going to Arizona. (sigh)

I was under the impression that randy and schilling were very close friends. Enough so that even there families got toghter a decent amount
