as i was writing my lance nix thread i realized most my team can not hit lefties..
can we get a list of players here that has been hitting lefties with command this season.. so some of us unbalanced teams can , yes get a bit more balanced...
Thanks to Yahoo's new "available players" feature, it's easy to see who hits well against lefties. Here are some notables:
M. Giles - .520 BA, 7 XBH in 25 AB's
Renteria - .432 BA, 13 XBH in 74 AB
Lowell - .400, 10, in 65
Rolen - .382, 9, in 55
Michael Young - .394, 14, in 104
I-Rod - .375, 12 in 112
Manny - .365, 18 in 85
Vlad - .364, 15, in 88
Belliard - .360, 16, in 114
There ya go. There are tons more, like Sheff, Wily Mo, Marrero, etc, but I'm not gonna list everybody
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."
Kaz hits lefties better, but won't run on them. Which makes him painful to play against either.
Frank Thomas has historically hit lefties better. But not so much this year.
Any way, I can see how knowing the splits can help you decide who to start or bench. But, how will it help you with a roster? Unless you've got a Broussard/Merloni platoon from the same team on your roster, what're the odds that your back up 1B who's a leftie killer is facing a leftie the same night as your starter?
