That's fine, and it's fun to think about possibilities and all. But at least in the subject line, say "Rumor:....." This should keep people from breathing down your neck about sources, links, etc.
I will admit it's an interesting idea, considering the ChiSox could use an upgrade at SS (though Valentin is still so-so).
I have mixed feelings about getting RJ in Boston though.. he'd get big wins for us, but I like the old familiar rotation we already have (even if 1/2 of them are shaky). Adding RJ seems gluttonous.
If the trade happened, it'd be a slam dunk for the Red Sox. They're getting RJ for a player who will otherwise walk away. For glutony, See: Steinbrenner.
But who's to say Boston is willing to give RJ a contract extension? They have to worry about Pedro, Lowe and Varitek too. Who knows if they'll go resign RJ or if RJ will want to resign there if they don't win the world series this year.

RJ is signed through next year....16 mill (I believe).
Even if this rumor is true they will hold up the announcement until tomorrow. But I'm not buying the rumor ATM (no offense to the messenger).
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
