ALLSTAR BREAK - TEAM NEEDS A TUNE UP ** SOME ADVICE NEEDED

IT's time to do some all-star cleaning:

Here is my problem: my team is really inconsistent - sometimes they can't do anything wrong and on the otherhand they make me sick to my stomach.

My idea: I want to get rid of Posada, Beckett, Pierre and another unnecessary outfielder.. Im looking to get a reliever and another SP who I can have some confidence in.

Possible solution? If you guys have any suggestions - any help would be more than appreciated. I will definitely look at your team if you have some questions of your own.


It's a 10 team yahoo league (H to H) and im currently in 5th place

alright fortunatley you got alot to work with, i find your team very intriguing, so im gonna give you some advice,

ok first KEEP POSADA, no reason to think he wont be awesome in the 2nd half & catcher is so thin, hes still a top 3 at that postiion,

2nd - your abundance of outfielders, Crawford & Pierre on your bench is useless, I would like to see your OF as Beltran, Magglio & either Crawford or Pierre , W Burell & Overbay in utility

also you got 2 real nice 2nd basemen, i prefer Vidro slightly over Reyes, but see who has more value, now u already can offer say Crawford & Vidro. (im getting to your needs in a sec)

alright you still got some reallll good hitting w Delgado & Chavez healthy in 2nd half & still have some depth

Pitching is a worry for ya BUT, Prior should have an amazing 2nd half, (remeber its still spring traingin for him) compliment him with Pavano & Burnett both should be solid. now Becektt & Brown are noth ???? so u can throw one of them in a deal also,. (i would personally keep Beckett) I would also ttade P Wilson, as he is sure to fade. Cliff Lee keep as he should be solid also

so now u got alot of chips to trade here, Crawford or Pierre, Vidro or Reyes & Beckett or Brown, you should be able to get a top stud closer & a real good starter for that package, either from 1 team or mix & match,.

Remember you were hit w big iinjuries Prior, Delgado & Chavez all should be awesome in the 2nd half, combine that w a couple ncioe trades your on your way to a Sweet 2nd half good luck

The conspicuous shortfall is in the closer cat. Keep one Sp(Brown) for protection. and trade away...Wilson, Lee, Reyes, Burrell, Dye, Overbay, and Pierre for some closers.

Among the "giveways", I'd try (but not very hard) to keep Reyes, then Pierre...

By the way Reyes only has one/half season of exp. (think Berroa)
