2nd half sleepers

Postby garretterik » Mon Jul 12, 2004 2:14 pm

I would like to compose a list of guys people will think will pick it up in the second half. This list can be used to generate guys to trade for who may be playing below themselves now, but will pick it up soon.
Here are my three:
1. Juan Pierre pre-All Star break .296 AVG 110 SB
post-All Star break .318 AVG 65 SB

2. Chipper Jones pre-All Star break .296 AVG 169 HR
post -All Star break .318 AVG 121 HR

3. Kevin Brown: He will bounce back from his injury and finish as strong as last year.

I'll chime in with a guy I'm SURE is getting slept on by a lot of people.

Randy Winn has started to hit well over the last month, and his second half numbers last year were actually quite good, though I can't give you any figures right off hand. might be worth looking into if you have outfield problems.

I like Jody Gerut to have a much better second half. I have him so I hope so. It's more like I am begging.

I used to have Gerut but his consistency was bothering me. I know it may sound strange but I had hopes of him doing better, and he just doesn't seem to be showing any signs of improving in the second half.

I think Adam Dunn will finish strong. Based on the attitudes in here on him he might come cheap :-o

aubery huff

not so much a sleeper but rather a guy who has somewhat underperformed so far and put up better #'s in the second half last year than in the first. regardless, he's worth trying a trade for.

i'll also try at being bold and say wolf will become the ace of that staff from here on.

definitely chipper, he's too good to keep these poor numbers up (or down rather). on that note, delgado has to get better.
