I say Blalock gets the most HR but tires himself out trying to hit them longer than anyone else and the old guy Palmeiro wins it.

Being the only Righty in the contest, and Minute Maid being a Right handers Paridise, Sosa has a Huge advantage.

Berkman is a switch. Tejada is a righty also.

Certainly since I have been watching it, the HR Derby is never won by guys like Sosa, Bonds and co. Tino Martinez, Luis Gonzalez, Garet Anderson.

Also look for the guy that hits the most HR's in the 1st round, to crap out when it gets serious. That seems to happen year after year as well. They maybe tire themselves out.

I'm going for one of the longshots this year. Either Berkman or Tejada.

Never won by Bonds, Sosa, and co?

1995- Bonds
1996- Griffey Jr.
1997- T. Martinez
1998- Griffey Jr.
1999- Griffey Jr.
2000- Sosa
2001- L. Gonzalez
2002- Giambi
2003- G. Anderson

5 out of 9 years it was won by Griffey Jr, Sosa or Bonds. ;-)

But I agree with you in that I can see unexpected guys winning it as there have been some underdogs like Garrett and Gonzo.

I figured I'd go out on a limb and pick Berk.

Im thinking either Sosa or Berkman will win it this year.

i'll go with Sosa, but I wouldnt be suprised if Berkman wins it. I expect them to be in the Finals.
