Anybody have ideas on how to get to sleep

are you shifted or are you not sleeping enough?

those are certainly different.

if you are shifted, pick a weekend and pull an all-nighter and then go to bed the next day the time that you want to. you ought to be reset your clock.

if you're not sleeping enough, eat a turkey sandwich and drink a tal glass of warm milk about half an hour before you want to go to sleep. Alternatively, go for a hard run for about 20 minutes :)

(and, last, but not least, get plastered). :)
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

don't put words in my mouth.

listening to Bush is just as boring as listening to Kerry.

I recorded an A's game from last year, and when I can't sleep I pop it in the VCR. Sorry A's fans but you got some boring anouncers :-D. Always puts me to sleep.

Or I turn on my ipod and listen to Marron 5.

Sometimes If I can't sleep I come here (the café) and post... We should start a midnight club :-D

(1) Try to go to bed at about the same time every night (as much as your schedule will allow).

(2) Once you go to bed, if you can't fall asleep in 20-30 minutes, get out of bed and read, visit the Cafe, watch TV, or whatever, until you feel sleepy. The more you lay in bed awake, the more you condition yourself to stay awake in bed.

This may sound stupid, but when I know I have to go to sleep fast I think about having to go to sleep and I can't. If I clear my mind usually I fall asleep. :-o

Tylenol PM works but I wouldn't suggest using it often. I've used it almost daily for a couple of years and I have to take at least 4 to feel the least bit drowsy.

4 pills are less than 1/3 of the toxicity level for acetaminophen. I also alternate between Tylenol and Bayer (aspirin). My liver (and kidneys) are doing just fine.
