I have jumped from 10th to 6th place (last playoff spot) in the past 3 weeks, and am up 13-2 in this weeks matchup over the 5th place team. Is this recent surge just a flook, or can I keep climbing the standings. Any moves I should look to make?

I am trying to do this trade:
I get Thome, Abreu for Cabrera, Beltran, Almanzar.
The other owner wanted to do it without Almanzar, before Thome went off on his HR binge, but I just didnt want to give u Beltran. Is it a good move for me?

FA pitchers are D Cabrera, Washburn.

i think you could cntinue to climb, especially when wood comes back. the trade looks about even as far as the players are concerned but i think you might weaken your outfield more than you would strengthen yourself at 1b. washburn's era is terrible but he's more likely to get you wins than say, grienke, just because of the teams they play for.

Well, I won 12-2 last week, and am now in 5th place, 15 games out of 1st, and up by 3 games over the last playoff spot. Washburn got picked up, so he is not an option any more. Any other ideas?

yeah your team looks like you should hold on & make the playoffs, Beckett can carry yur staff w Wood if he comes back like last y ear, try & trade Burnitz & a reliever for a starter or something or maybe Willis & Burnitz for a nice INfielder or a better starter

Team looks pretty solid. I would expect a fall off from these players:

Martinez
Overbay
Carpenter
Kolb

They have been just too good. but should continue to produce. Just not to the levels of the first half.
