can you post (copy/paste) the article for those of us without ESPN Insider?

It's just the Daily News article, rmeesig. ;-)

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

CBS sportsline

News: The Angels are closely monitoring the Randy Johnson situation in Arizona and plan to try to trade for the southpaw if the team decides to move him and Bartolo Colon continues to struggle in the next three weeks, according to the Los Angeles Times. The Diamondbacks would want catcher Jeff Mathis and either third baseman Dallas McPherson or first baseman Casey Kotchman in any deal for Johnson, and are also interested in Scot Shields and Ramon Ortiz.

Analysis: Johnson had a 50-minute conversation with Arizona general manager Joe Garagiola Jr. in the dugout before Wednesday's game, and it's possible the two are warming to the idea of a trade for the left-hander. Dealing two of those prospects would be a steep price for Anaheim, but it would signify the team is committed to contending for a World Series title, which would represent their second in three years if they pull off the feat.
