Phil Nevin - 1B - SD
Just days after knee surgery, Phil Nevin is off crutches.
There is post-operative stiffness in the knee, and Nevin still can't climb stairs, but the Padre first baseman still believes he can return to action after missing only 10 games. Jul. 9 - 10:01 am et
This from Rotoworld. 10 GAMES? What happened to 6 weeks? This news is AWESOME!!

Very awesome

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. -Crash Davis

Especially since my "other" 1B is Frank Thomas who looks like he's going to head to the DL with surgery too.
Fortunately for me I picked up Casey Blake in Chavez's absence and with Chavez coming back I can slide Blake over to 1st until Phil comes back. It was close to being ugly and still could be if Chavez is cold or Blake turns cold.

Well this sucks because I dropped Nevin thinking he'd miss a month!!! Might have to get him again.

That is truly amazing. Makes me wonder if it's even possible/too good to be true. Hopefully it is true, because he was just heating up. I need his bat badly.

Yeah things are looking up for me. A few days ago I had Vernon and Chavez on the DL, Kent hurt and Nevin going on the DL. Getting Kent back yesterday, Chavez back today, Nevin in a little while and Vernon hopefully later this month is great.

How long do you think it'll be before he returns to form, once he's back in the lineup?
And where do you guys rank him amongst other OF batters?

I can tell you one thing for sure. Brian Giles is STILL a better fantasy option!
