Phil Nevin - 1B - SD

Just days after knee surgery, Phil Nevin is off crutches.
There is post-operative stiffness in the knee, and Nevin still can't climb stairs, but the Padre first baseman still believes he can return to action after missing only 10 games. Jul. 9 - 10:01 am et

Especially since my "other" 1B is Frank Thomas who looks like he's going to head to the DL with surgery too. :~(

Fortunately for me I picked up Casey Blake in Chavez's absence and with Chavez coming back I can slide Blake over to 1st until Phil comes back. It was close to being ugly and still could be if Chavez is cold or Blake turns cold. :-o

That is truly amazing. Makes me wonder if it's even possible/too good to be true. Hopefully it is true, because he was just heating up. I need his bat badly. ;-D

Yeah things are looking up for me. A few days ago I had Vernon and Chavez on the DL, Kent hurt and Nevin going on the DL. Getting Kent back yesterday, Chavez back today, Nevin in a little while and Vernon hopefully later this month is great. ;-D

How long do you think it'll be before he returns to form, once he's back in the lineup?

And where do you guys rank him amongst other OF batters?
