Life Emulating Fantasy Baseball?

Postby JTWood » Fri Jul 09, 2004 10:41 am

Just a funny little comparison I thought I would bring to everyone's attention:

Right now, in my personal life, I am facing the worst bought of injuries I have ever sustained in the 15 years that I have played competitive tennis. I have an atrophied rotator cuff, a partially torn ligament in my wrist, and a strained tendon in my knee.

In my fantasy life, I am also facing the worst bought of injuries I have ever sustained in the 4 years I have been playing. They include Glaus, Anderson, Wood, and now Thomas.

Is it coincidence, or is there something more to this?

Just an observation I thought some of you - particularly those that take FB seriously - might enjoy.

If I did this 24-7, what would I do in the off season?

Plus, I don't know if I could handle the stress of this year if it spread across more than one of my teams. I'm in two leagues right now. One is the one I mentioned above. Somehow I'm only one game out of first right now, but with Thomas out, I doubt that will hold for long (although I do get Wood back to replace Zito - thank God!).

The other league is a keeper cap league that I'm doing a rebuild in. So between Injuries R Us above and the rebuild, I'm not having an "enjoyable" year. But hey, you take the good with the bad, right? I mean, I won a championship a couple years ago, so who am I to complain about a quasi-bad year?

ps - I like the logo. Your handle should have been something appropriate like Cheetara or Snarf. Snarf would have been cool...
