OK, that makes sense. Pedro has plans to go to the DR. Can't blame him. I'd rather him rest, anyway. I hope Schilling sits out, too--he can rest his ankle. Have Javy go seven.
Joe just explained it on the post game on YES. Pedro was actually next on the list but asked not to go because he had made plans so they went with who came after him which was Javy.
heard he has a hair appointment.
Well, this coming from a red sox guy (i think) I'll believe it.
And also, there are other, more outlandish omissions to the all star team.
Forget the man crush. I drop what I'm doing to watch Zack Greinke pitch.

I think the numbers are plenty close. I would give the slight SLIGHT edge to Pedro but i am willing to admit that i am a tad bit biased. That being the case i cant begrudge torre for being a tad bit biased as well . Instead of 'tie goes to the runner' ,,,,in this case 'tie goes to your own player'....

Even without the story, why on Earth would he pick Pedro? The Yankees made it to the world series last year, the Red Sox didn't. Because of that, Torre earned the right to be able to pick whoever he wants. What kind of message would it send to the Yankees fans and players if he picked Pedro over Vasquez? Torre is one of the most respected managers in the game. You don't get that way by selling out your players and if Torre picked Pedro over Vasquez (considering their stats are so close) he would be totally selling Vasquez out.
Some of my fellow Red Sox fans are f***ing paranoid, I swear. How come I don't always hear the Cubs fan crying about every little thing? I'm going to root for the Red Sox until they win the World Series or I die, whichever comes first. What I'm not going to do is feel sorry for them and their 120 million dollar payroll when Tampa Bay is trying to compete in the same division for 23 million. Give it a rest already.

ugh..you've got to be kidding...that pic in my avatar is from game 7 of the ALCS - right after lil Petey gave up THE HIT...I am in NO way, a sox fan. yanks fan here.

Dude I'd consider changing that av if I were you lol
This isn't the first time you've been mistaken for a Sox fan. I think it happens to WeaponsofMassDestruction too.
What about the fact that LoDuca was put on because of casey's injury...but Overbay wasnt chosen. I think Beltre and Aramis would have even been better choices but Overbay should have that spot.
to be honest here ... I haven't even taken the time to go and look at the rosters ... The Allstar game just doesn't mean as much to me as it does say, Curt Schilling ...
But Pedro is not in the Allstar game?
YES ....Yes ... Yes ... yes . .....yes
I dispise that guy with a passion ..
Popscicle anybody?
