Say the season ends today, and the redsox make the playoffs. Who would you choose as the AL MVP? Manny or Ortiz? That would be a tough question since they have similar numbers and are on the same team. Is it possible to choose the mvp without the other feeling snuffed?
(this is only hypothetical and just for fun, i know there are more possible mvp candidates).

Not to knock Ortiz but I don't think we would ever see an MVP @ DH when there is just as good candidate in the outfield

Yeah, another vote for Vlad here. Dude switched leagues, is playing without alot of injured starters and still hasn't missed a beat

Yes the Angels have had a lot of injuries but they have also gotten a lot of at bats and production out of those players before they got hurt. It's not like Nomars situation where he never started the season at all. At this point I think it has to be between Manny and Vlad with my personal homer being going to Manny. Way too many people think Vlad at this point is a slam dunk MVP pick. Those people are seriously undervaluing Manny and his influence on the Sox this year.

Personally, at this point in the season, Ortiz is the MVP of the Sox. Not to knock Manny b/c he's probably gonna be the more valuable player over the course of the season, but Oritz is just a monster. And Ortiz does play in the field occasionally.
