berkmans 2nd half?

what does everyone see berk doing 2nd half? Doesnt he always have a drop off after the asb?

unfortunately i think i agree here, but he will still be quite valuable in that park and lineup.

He will be valuable, no doubt, but just look at his splits. Maybe this will be the year he will turn that around with the great lineup around him, but like the others said, he's been ice the last few weeks.

Well, I had noticed the splits a couple of days ago for Berkman, and traded him away in what may be a lopsided trade... I gave Berkman and Guardado for Carlos Zambrano.

I had 5 closers (Kolb/Smoltz/Lidge/Baez), and I have Wells, Chavez, and Delgado coming off the DL, so I needed to upgrade pitching.

I hated to let Lance go, but it was probably the only way I was going to avoid having to drop someone without getting anything in return.

Wow, you paid the price on a sell high sort of guy...Zambrano's been lights out, but that's a huge price to pay. Injury may be a concern with him, as his pitch counts have been high and he's shown signs of injury the last few times out, although it's not too serious at this moment. He's not the sort I trust as an ace, I don't know why, but that's just me. Has been consistent this year, but not so in the past. His WHIP was 1.32 and 1.45 the past two years...so I don't know.

I wouldn't deal either Berk or Guardado for him, personally...maybe Guardado only b/c of the trade possibility, actually.
