Well considering what Mauer has done in his first month in the bigs i think we can expect great things from him over time...and 5 yrs from now you'll be putting him at the top of that list.

Yep, those five and Wilson. Arguably Tek, too.
I'd be surprised if Mauer isn't the #1 Fantasy catcher in a few years.

This guy didn't even play AAA, the twins moved him from AA straight to a starting job on the big team. That's saying something, considering that the twins don't generally rush their young players.
Another freaky thing about this guy.....Through his high school career, he struck out a grand total of
once.

I couldn't agree more, except C. Wilson is also a better option IMO.
Craig Wilson wont be eligible at C next year. I dont think hes played a game at catcher this year.

If I didn't have one of those five, or was in a keeper/dynasty league I would definitely take Mauer. He hasn't proven enough to me in the bigs yet to give him a roster spot in shallow one year leagues personally. His potential is through the roof and I'll say that he will be one of if not the top fantasy C in a few years, but not quite yet IMO.

Yep, its looking more and more doubtful that Wilson will qualify at catcher next year - he only has 3 appearences so far. So unless Kendall goes down, it looks like his days as a fantasy catcher is over.
He'll still be a decent 3rd or 4th OF, but his value is going to drop sharply unless he gets a lot of PT as C the rest of the way...

Would you drop Kendall for Mauer in a 9 team redraft league right now?

Mauer is good and should only get better, but I don't think he is the 3rd best Fantasy catcher yet.

Not only did he call three gems vs the AAA KC team but he hit 500.... start carving the ROY trophy as he is ready
No one runs on him either - i think 7 SB's only and he's canned 6 I think.

Mauer is extremely talented. We must remember that he had a .330 career BA in the minors and he is only 21 years old. He only hit 9 HRs in three years in the minors and he already has 6 HRs in only 94 major league ABs. Go figure that one out.
The only question about him was weather he would need a year in the majors to adjust or would he rake out of the gate. I thought he'd need a year to adjust. V-Mart needed that year, last year he didn't hit well at all. Also, remember that Piazza was
23 years old when he reached the majors and was 24 in his first full season, so Mauer is in effect three years ahead of Piazza.
