I have commented on a previous thread about the relative merits of third basemen this year, and I have to still give Mike Lowell the edge here. Aramis is much younger and a much better pick for a keeper league, but Lowell is still the better player right now. Aramis was off to a huge start, but has since slowed down somewhat, mainly in power. He will undoubtedly get homer-happy again, and will be a very good pick at 3B for the rest of the season, but barring injury, I have to still go with Lowell.
They are very comparable, and are about on the same tier as Cabrera and maybe Beltre with the top 3 third basemen being in this order
Lowell. He doesn't slump in the second half like his pre-post AS splits suggest. He had a bad August one year, and since he was injured through a few other ones, doesn't have a lot fo games to counter-act the one month slump. All of his months are generally the same with the exception of April, which is by far his best month. Lowell over Aramis easily, IMO.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."
How can you say easily? Aramis has been better and Mike Lowell usually cools off a bit in the 2nd half, usually due to some sort of injury. (Always happens) I think it will be close, but I'd say Aramis will be better.
