Down to the minors

Postby Arlo » Sun Mar 24, 2002 6:38 pm

Predictably, superprospect Mark Prior will begin the year in the minors. He'll be up fairly soon, though, giving us a chance to see whether the hype is justified or not.

With Blalock starting at 3b in Texas, Lamb has, not surprisingly, been sent down. The intriguing aspect of this is that he may be asked to move behind the plate. Definitely something to keep an eye on...

And So Taguchi is also headed down to the farm after an awful spring. The upshot: look for Pujols to spend time in the outfield again this year, perhaps more than at 3b.

Sounds like Petrick might join the ranks of the recently demoted. he has an option left and Bennett has now been named opening day starter. I think their just trying to scar the boy into producing, but we'll have to wait and see.
