Better second half? Prior or Schmidt?

Need to get some ideas of who you guys think will have the more productive second half?

I would say they will be very similar, I personally would take Prior, but prior is always getting hurt, and even though Schmidt is or was hurt, it dosent matter he is one of those guys who pitches through it with no problems.

Schmidt:
Pitches in a better park
Pitches in a very weak division

Prior:
Better Bullpen support
More run support

I think Prior has a slight advantage in strikeouts, but both are major K guys. Schmidt has been dominant all year.

Tough call, you can't go wrong with either really.

Same --- Prior should be heating up and Schmidt should stay the same - almost perfect.

gosh, as good as prior is, schmidt's track record this year is just soooo much more compelling. i think you have to go with the guy who you KNOW has done it for the past three monthes rather than the guy who we're PRETTY SURE will do it for the next three monthes.

but i really don't think you can go wrong with either :-p

I think it's hard to go wrong with either one. But I'm actually on the side of Schmidt putting up better stats the rest of the season.

Always getting hurt? Last year he had one injury in which it was a collision with Marcus Giles, which put him on the DL, and then the achilles thing. I would hardly call that always getting hurt. The collision was a freak injury.

cant go wrong with either one....i personally would go with prior since i am a cubs fan and his arm should be strong for the rest of the year since he hasnt pitched that much this season, but that doesnt mean schmidt wont be strong either.....

When I said always getting hurt, I meant he has had an injury each year. Yes last season was a freak injury. Don't get me wrong I like everyone else had Prior ranked #1 in the preseason and I believe he is going to be top 3 from here on out.

I must certainly be missing something here.

You guys really would take Prior over Schmidt? Are you all Cubs fans? Schmidt has a better ERA and WHIP and has won 2/3rds of his starts.

Prior is still "heating up" as some of you call it. Why take the guy who *should* get hot instead of the guy who already *is* hot? It's this type of logic that put Giambi in the All-Star game...

I'm not a Giants or Cubs fan (or a hater of either club as well) and don't have Schimdt or Prior in any league. But if I were to simply get one for free I wouldn't have to think twice about it.

I'd say Schmidt...because of the park he plays in and the relative weak division (both points that have already been noted).
