Tex has always been viewed as a great potential hitter. He seems to be slowly fulfilling that potential. His average may still hang in the .260s-.270s, but the power sure is there.
I got rid of Hinske after dealing M. Giles and Herges for Tex and Rhodes earlier this year. Both closers suck and Giles is great, but I'm certainly happy with Tex's production. In addition, it's not like I needed a 2B, as Soriano and Kent is more than enough.

How people don't think Tex is "this" good is beyond me. He has always been a highly touted prospect with huge power potential. Not sure if he will ever hit for a high average, but many thought he was as good if not better then Blalock.
yeah. he was hurt for the first month and had a dismal average.
but i traded blalock for glavine towards the end of may, thinking that tex (who i had on my bench) would match blalock's numbers.
well guess what? outside of blalock's UNREAL .360 ba in june, teixiera HAS matched his numbers after today. heck, in the past 30 days, texiera actually has 1 more homer!
the guy's a baller. with him and blalock on the corners and soriano in the middle, the texas infield will be a force to be reckoned with.
which is why i drafted all three this year. :-)
