Bay had an 8 rbi game last year (aug/sep, not sure) and another last night. The guy is going to be a flat out STUD. Hey Padres.......would you like to have a do over, Giles for O. Perez and Bay. We will look back at that trade and laugh. Pitt got over big time!

no way its just one game

example of this is Rob Mackowiak where is he now must likley getting dumped by owners now. And to all of yall that say he haves more potential than him there is only a 2 year difference between them.

I think he's some garbage backup player for Baltimore.

he's a recent AAA call-up who's had injuries during his minor league career, making it take longer for him to get to the bigs. once he's gotten there, however, not only has he HIT in every game he's played (approaching 10 now), but he's also contributed to at least one fantasy category (r, rbi, sb) EVERY night he's played. now THAT'S crazy, and i think i'll ride it until it stops (which, granted, could be any day now).

Same here, Newhan has done wonders for my team and certainly has a spot with Gibbons and possibly Mora going to the DL

Definitely hang on to Guillen. As for the Mackowiak comparison, Bay has been more consistent, and has way more upside, but even so, he is held to a higher standard because he doesn't have 2B eligibility. On another note, it hasn't just been one game, Even before the double header two days ago, Bay was producing very solidly for the last month.

Well CBMGreatone, when I first read the title of your post I thought to myself: Oh he's typing that to confess his sins about Ron Mackowiak. His numbers the last month (as I said we should check back in) aren't exactly stellar 12r 1hr 9rbi 3sb .273ba. But then it was obvious that you were referring to that little spat I had the other day. I'm still sorry about that and I absolutely think if he's available in your league you should pick up Jason Bay. In fact go ahead and drop Mackowiak for him. ;-) :-D

Bay will be an excellent player the rest of the way and Rob Mackowiak and Jack Wilson will not.

Forget the man crush. I drop what I'm doing to watch Zack Greinke pitch.

Irony of all ironies... In the league in which I owned Mackowiak, I dropped him for Jason Bay :-D

Although Mack hasn't done much this last month, I am not ready to fully concede that he is definitely NOT worth a roster spot in normal mixed leagues, but I have Marcus Giles coming back soon, and I had moved Uribe to 2B from SS, and inserted Bobby Crosby for the last week or two. Mackowiak certainly isn't "legit," but I'm betting that he will get hot again, which will still put him at a higher level than some teams' starting second basemen.

doh! newhan went 0/1 in a pinch hit appearance :(

i guess i can't quote that "hitting streak since he was called up" stat :-/

but i can still say he's hit in every start he's had! :D
