E Jackson to Start Saturday

Did a quick search and didn't see this posted. According to Fanball in the Yahoo notes, Edwin Jackson will probably pitch on Saturday against the Angels.

Jul 1 As expected, Odalis Perez will not make his next scheduled start this Friday against the Angels. However, the Dodgers' ace could miss even more. Perez had been previously diagnosed with biceps tendonitis, but an MRI on Wednesday revealed tendonitis in his left shoulder on the edge of his rotator cuff. "I don't like to use those words [rotator cuff] because that makes you think of the whole thing," team physician Frank Jobe told the Los Angeles Times. "It's just one leading edge. It's not the whole rotator cuff."

Views: Fantasy owners who have been following Perez's situation since he was pulled early from last Saturday's start likely had him on their benches already. Leave him there for now. Kazuhisa Ishii has been moved up from Saturday to pitch in his place on Friday and Edwin Jackson will probably be called up to fill out the rotation for the short term.

Is it worth taking a flyer on Jackson? He has great potential, but the Anaheim line-up seems to be pretty good. Any thoughts?

Well, I'm starting him. I'm both in a deep league (15 teams, 9 man staffs) and desperate (need a replacement for Wade Miller).

Jackson is facing Bartolo Colon on Saturday. Fat Bart is also on my team but I'm starting Jackson and benching Colon. Maybe they'll both stink it up but I'd really feel like such a chump sending Colon again.
