He finished out the game after the injury ocurred so it can't be that serious. If you can trade Thome for Arod straight up, I would have done that before the injury.
Really? Thome's single handedly carried me to first place in my league. Except for the steals (and my team gets plenty of them elsewhere), he's been a fair amount better than ARod this year.
Hell ya.. AROD is the most consistent "stud" player every single year... some guys rank top 10 one year then drop into oblivion the next.. AROD is always a top 3 pick.
Thome has carried my team also. I selected Arod in the 1st round and Thome in the 2nd.
But it's a lot easier to find another 1B who can somewhat fill Thome's shoes than it is to find a SS/3B who can fill Arod's.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Good to know it isn't serious though.
AROD is sitting at 19 homers right now but he could go on a tear any time and might even end up with more homers than Thome this year. AROD hit like 15-20 homers in August(?) alone last year.. he's a late hitter.
Arod won't hit more homers than Thome IMO but I doubt Thome will catch up in the SB department.

My 1B is Giambi, 3B Blalock, SS Crosby. Giambi has potential, but has been disgustingly bad this year.
I guess I'm just leery of giving up Thome because of how good he's been in that new park. I understand guys get hot and cold and after a month like that he's bound to cool down...it's just hard to do because he's been the best in fantasy baseball the past few weeks.

thome is usually a late hitter... sometimes he starts out with like 10 homers thru June and then ends up with 40+... this year he starts out busting the ball.. he's gonna end up with a ton of 'em. As for AROD, he hit 50+ and if you see his splits he hits them in droves. So if you can get arod for thome do it, otherwise try trade Giambi while you still can.

Haha, I don't know that I could get much of anything for Giambi at this point. I'd be better off holding on to him and hoping that he starts to hit.
