If you look at a map of all the stadium locations, the West Coast still looks naked compared to the East. The Oregon real estate economy has taken flight over the last five years. If it is at all indicative of how the rest of the economy is there, a Portland team would surely prosper. Lastly, Seattle needs an arch rival (right ?).
P.S. ...a team in Vagas? Wouldn't that start the rise of the biggest fair weather fans on the globe? Half the stand would be filled by tourists. And if you had slot machines in the park, you could have people leaving out of frustration toward the umps and slots. It may sound like fun, but it could easily turn into a joke.

I don't know ShortSausage - Seattle seems to be battling medicority right now.

Vegas the city has a permanent population larger than Cleveland, Kansas City, Atlanta, Oakland, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Arlington, Anaheim and Cincinnati.
This of course does not take into account the surrounding metropolitan areas that would make Atlanta, Oakland and Arlington bigger but it also does not take into consideration that Vegas also is the fastest growing city.
Tourists that go to Pittsburgh would take in a game (what else is there to do?) - tourists that go to Vegas would not be going for the baseball.
That way there would be plenty of interest, fan support and financial stability....and you wouldn't have to drive out of the city to get the second-rate, 'joke of a' facility.
Maybe you are right about Vegas. I cannot picture it as a baseball town though. How do the 51s do?
Hehe and what is up with you guys calling me anything but my screen name. Mookie, you are the second guy in as many days from our NL only league to make up some weird name for me. This doesn't have anything to do with standings, does it ?
While Baltimore is relatively close, it is almost impossible for people who work past 5:30 to make it to 7pm starts. If Balt wanted to really accomodate the DC market fanbase, they would bump the starts to 7:30.
We are what, the 4th largest media market?
We've got a plan for stadium. Most of the critical infrastructure is in place already.
While we don't support the Wizards or Capitols very well, I'd say that's based on utter crappiness. Massive support for the Redskins, good, bad or ugly.
