Berkman + Beltran

Anyone notice how Berkman has been ice cold since adding Beltran. In the last week he is 2/19 (.105) with 3 rbi's and no runs scored. I am sure he will shake out of it, but he has been so consistent all year, I hope the move to right isn't messing with his offensive game.

yeah the terrible week coincided directly with me getting him in a trade . oh well stiill made out on the deal (hudson for berkman and benetez) with hudson going on the dl.

Berkman started off the season very cold as well...i guess hes just in for a streaky season. I wouldnt worry about him though.

over the last month here berkmans #'s 22 avg 2 hr 16 rbis. Thats REALLY crappy, and over an extended period of time.

He'll start hitting soon, but the .300-.310 average is probably where he'll end up at the end of the season.

Speaking of the two, here's something I posted on the Game Commentary, Cheering, and Venting Board.

If Jimy had a brain, he'd know to sandwich Berkman and Beltran with either Bagwell or Kent. Neither Bags nor Kent have hit well against lefties this year, but both are historically better against left handed pitchers. Thus, teams can't bring their lefty specialists in to take down Beltran-Berkman 3-4 anymore. Though Beltran did get the homer today (and against Marte on Opening Day), he's still worse against lefties and it will hurt in the long run.
