Christ! Nothing like looking at your box score and seeing a FAT "L" next to your closer....
Anyone worried Houston will go after another guy who lost today in Urbina?

No way Lidge is lights out. Sosa hit a homer, it happens.
Baseball is the only field of endeavor where a man can succeed three times out of ten and be considered a good performer.

They just traded an excellent relief pitcher a week ago; I don't think they're going to just turn on a dime like that and get someone else.

Rumors have it that they are actively looking for another reliever. Lige had been great this season and has been great in save opportunities...even if the Astros get somelike like Urbina, I think they would keep Lidge as the closer (Lidge will be their closer for many years to come and they want to show confidence in him, though that all changes if he all of a sudden starts pitching horribly).
In today's game, Lidge wasnt even supposed ot be available (he worked 2 innings yesterday). Munro the starter only went a few innings and the game went into extra innings, so they brought Lidge in out of desperation a little bit.

Anyway that pitch that Sammy jacked out of the park, was the first that Lidge threw. Don't worry about him. He'll keep his job....

First Santana.
Then Urbina.
Now Lidge.

i agree, Lidge's job is REAL safe. he just prolly real tired. that picth was right down the middle. now the Stros need to find someone better than David Weathers

Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
