If the Brewers win (winning 8-2) and the Cubs lose (4-4), the Brewers would jump to 2nd place in the Central and be the current holders of the wild card.
UN-FRICKEN-BELIEVABLE
Sorry for the excitement, but it's been a loooong time for Brewer fan. I'm sure it won't last, but it's hella fun now
Who do you guys as "outsiders" think should represent the Brewers at the All-Star game? I think an argument could be made for Overbay, Kolb and Sheets. I was alse hearing Doug Davis could actually have a chance. Sheets W/L record may hold him back. Overbay is roadblocked at first with Casey, Pujols and Thome. I think it has to be Kolb. ERA under 1 and 24/25 in save opps.

I think it will be Sheets...but Kolb has looked very good. There are just a lot of closers in teh NL like Gagne, Wagner (though hes had some injuries), Smoltz (who else would represent the Braves?), Graves, Benitez, Mesa (Perez would represent the Pirates instead though, so nevermind)
And give a huge dose of credit to Mike Maddux, their new pitching coach. He's doing an extraordinary job with what aside from Sheets, is a motley crew of nobodies.
As a Cards fan I don't want them to be too close for comfort down the stretch but it's a great story, and I hope then can hang in there just so everyone who bashes baseball because 'half the teams are eliminated before pitchers and catchers report' sorta thing will finally have no ground to stand on. It's great for baseball and baseball fans having the Rangers, Brewers, Marlins, etc still in the hunt in July. It's a great time to be a baseball fan IMO.
