Going in to any single baseball game what is the one or two most important factors in determining who's going to win?
Starting Pitching, How hot a teams hitting, etc.
Runs.

-How many left/right handed hitters the pitcher has to face
-Pitcher's history against that team (i.e. Victor Zambrano vs Yankees)
-Team hot streak/cold streak
-Who the home team is
-Injuries

I'd say the pitching vs. hitting matchup is the most important factor (other than the obvious like being able to field a full team ).
