I know its easy to get excited when you have a guy go 1 for 100 and then he has a couple good games. That said, I do believe that Boone is coming around. He is a proven commodity at a shallow position and there is just no way he can keep being so bad. By years end he will have good numbers for the position he plays and the people who traded him for Zack Grienke and a 90th round draft pick will be sad!
I predict he will be top 3 scoring 2nd basemen from this point on.
OK now go ahead and rip me!

To paraphrase the great Hunter S. Thompson as applies to Mr. Boone ... "We were somewhere around Safeco at the Bottom of the AL West when the drugs began to take hold ..."
I have Boone. I'm hopeful. But before I break out the party hats and start buying a round of Shirley Temples, I want to see him hit against pitchers other than those in Rangers uniforms.
Good discussion. How in the world do you tell when there's been a REAL change/correction? My gut says he's got to show me more, and I need the LUCK that ,if he is turning around I won't get beat to the punch by one of you sharpies..
You never can tell...the depth of the well...by the length of the handle on the pump..

But that won't stop me from saying you're wrong and he won't bat over .250 the rest of the year.
purely from a historical point of view for an experienced hitter, that is very unlikely closing in on almost being impossinble.
dont forget its very possible that he gets dealt to a better offensive team with a home park smaller than Safeco.
i say he turns it around. buy extremely low if want to. he might not be studly but he'll have pretty good numbers for a 2B from now on. i have him on a lot of teams now even though i never even drafted him.
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
This little outburst isn't unprecedented. In the first half of June he hit safely in a stretch of 8 games out of 10.
If he can eliminate the 2-for-33 that came between that stretch and his current one, then maybe we're talking some value.
He's been pretty bad..not just unlucky, but horrible swings. He can't hit anything on the outside part of the plate. Pitchers are exploiting that big time. I woul'dnt bank on more than a .265 BA the rest of the way. So it's safe to say I think his BA will be around .250 at the end of the year. If he's lucky.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
