FYI,

Only two catchers have ever won batting titles.

Ernie Lombardi
1938: .342
1942: .330

Bubbles Hargrave
1926: .353

Mike Piazza came close
1995 (2nd): .348 (Gywnn won .368)
1996 (3rd): .336 (Gywnn won .353)
1997 (3rd): .362 (Gywnn won .372)
1998 (4th): .328 (Walker won .363)-not that close.

Interesting. But you never hear Hargrave's name mentioned on any "best-hitting catcher" list.

Luckily, you always hear his name on the "girliest nicknames" list.
